Selection
A Pleats Please fabric panel is selected for its fold density and cut by hand to the dimensions of the piece.
Pour
A single pour of optically clear resin seals the fold. One movement. No correction. The fold is fixed at this moment.
Cure
The resin cures over 24 to 48 hours. The exact geometry of the fold is established here and cannot be changed.
Set
The metal setting is shaped around the cured piece - not a template. The gold follows the cloth.

Atelier process documentation - Tokyo, 2025
Issey Miyake Inc. Founded
The house is established in Tokyo. Clothing begins with the relationship between a piece of cloth and the human body. Everything that follows is an elaboration of this idea.
Pleats Please Launched
A permanent pleating technique applied to finished garments. The fold is set by heat. It does not come out. The result is a textile with structural memory - the material at the core of every A-POC Jewellery piece.
A-POC Patent Filed
Issey Miyake and Dai Fujiwara file the A-POC patent. One thread. No waste seams. The technique predates sustainability as a fashion trend by more than two decades and remains exclusively held by Issey Miyake Inc.
Issey Miyake Passes Away
The house continues as an ongoing practice. A-POC Jewellery is one answer to the questions he spent fifty years asking.
A-POC Jewellery
Fabric as precious stone. Cloth becomes stone. Pleated. Poured. Set.
Pleats Please Fabric
Cut oversized, sandwiched in paper, passed through a heat press. The fold is permanent. The fabric holds its geometry inside resin without warping, yellowing, or losing definition. That is why it qualifies as a stone.
Gold Filled, Not Plated
Gold filled contains approximately 5% gold by weight, bonded under pressure - twice the gold of vermeil, waterproof, suitable for daily wear without replating. The choice of gold filled over vermeil is consistent with the founding logic of the line: material hierarchies are worth questioning.
Five pieces in the Resin Preserved Textile series. Any piece available as an 18K commission.
